Mixed Emotions

This mixed-media collage is a reflection of chaos, connection, and contemplation. By layering newspaper clippings, paint, drawings, and found images, the work brings together fragments of narratives—protest, isolation, identity, and rebirth—set against an architectural centerpiece. The towering structure grounds the composition, while bursts of greenery and bold strokes of color breathe life into an otherwise industrial form.

Symbols of nature, protest imagery, and surreal elements—such as a disjointed hand, whimsical line drawings, and abstract figures—intertwine to evoke tension between the organic and the manufactured, the personal and the collective. Words like privacy, riot, and imagination invite viewers to consider the ever-evolving dialogue between solitude and community, structure and disruption.

Through this piece, I aim to explore the overwhelming nature of modern existence, where information, emotion, and imagery collide, creating space for both discomfort and beauty. It’s an invitation to pause, to sift through the chaos, and to find meaning in the layers.
